Van and larger-vehicle booking rules
Vans, light goods vehicles, hired commercial vans, camper vans and trailers over 1.8 metres can require an advance recycling-centre booking. Vehicles over 5.8 metres, over 3.5 tonnes fully laden, trailers over three metres, horseboxes and tractors are not permitted.
Belfast Civic Amenity Sites
Belfast also operates smaller civic amenity sites. These can be useful for everyday household waste and selected recycling, but their vehicle and material rules differ from the four recycling centres.

Asbestos must not be placed in household bins, recycling boxes, Belfast recycling centres or civic amenity sites. Belfast has a limited household collection route for qualifying small amounts of cement-based asbestos.
