Extra mixed recycling
Additional accepted mixed recycling can be placed beside the light-green/blue-lid bin in an open container that lets crews clearly see and empty the contents.

A small amount of dry flattened oversized cardboard can be left beside the blue bin under the preparation rules above.
Extra general rubbish
No routine side rubbish.
Normal additional bags beside the dark-green bin are not collected.
One important exception
After a council-confirmed severe-weather failure to collect rubbish or recycling, Rochdale can temporarily allow bagged extra general waste and visible extra recycling on the recovery collection.
This weather exception should not be used on an ordinary collection week.

Frozen brown-bin contents
Food and garden material can freeze to the bottom of the container.

- Do not leave them inside a house or garage.

- Do not put them outside earlier than the day before.
