What you receive
The normal service provides a brown 240-litre wheelie bin. Where a property is not suitable for a wheelie bin, the council can provide two reusable 90-litre brown sacks instead. The council says new bins or sacks are normally delivered within ten working days.
How many collections?
Residents subscribed from the start of the service year are scheduled to receive 25 collections, with a two-week pause over the Christmas and New Year period. Exact festive pause dates are published nearer the time.
Who can subscribe?
The property must be within the London Borough of Hounslow and accessible to collection vehicles and crews. Purpose-built flats are generally not eligible unless the garden-waste container can be presented on the ground floor and is accessible.

What the service can collect
Examples on the council’s current service page include furniture, mattresses and beds, white goods such as fridges and washing machines, bicycles, electrical equipment, computers and televisions.
Only the items declared in the booking will be collected. If you live in a flat, the items must be placed in an agreed communal area and you should obtain permission from the landlord, managing agent or housing association before leaving them there.

Residents who are physically unable to move waste or recycling containers to the normal front-edge collection point can request an assisted collection.
Where assistance is agreed, the collection arrangement can allow the crew to collect the container from an agreed point closer to the property and return it afterward. The service is intended to remove the requirement for an eligible resident to move the containers to the standard boundary point.
