The remaining rollout includes areas around Beverley, Cottingham, Willerby, Brough, Anlaby and Hessle.

East Riding specifically instructs residents not to put normal blue-bin recycling inside black bags, ordinary plastic bags or bin liners. Shredded paper is an exception and can be contained as directed by the council.

A missing or damaged container is a bin-request problem rather than a missed-collection report. East Riding provides separate routes for new-build sets, missing containers, damage, larger green or blue bins and some additional capacity requests.

East Riding provides a chargeable collection for household items that cannot fit in normal wheelie bins, including suitable furniture and electrical goods. Prices changed from the amounts shown in older versions of this article.

Collections operate Tuesday to Friday, with the available day depending on the area. Items need to be outside at ground-floor level in a location the crew can reach. The collection team does not normally enter a house, garage, shed or other outbuilding to carry the item outside.

East Riding Household Waste Recycling Sites: Pass or Permit?
East Riding household waste recycling sites are for household waste. The council operates a Resident’s Pass system for ordinary household vehicles and a separate permit system for certain vans, pick-ups, sign-written vehicles and larger trailers.
Normal car
Use the free 2026/27 Resident’s Pass or accepted evidence proving that you live in the East Riding.
Van / two-door pick-up
Vans, camper vans, two-door pick-ups and sign-written vehicles need the council’s tip-permit route.
Larger trailer
A trailer larger than 6ft × 4ft (1.8m × 1.2m) requires a permit. Smaller trailers can use the Resident’s Pass route.
2026/27 Resident’s Pass
The current pass is valid until 31 March 2027. Residents with paper Council Tax bills received the pass with the March 2026 mailing.
If you do not have the pass, the council accepts alternatives such as an East Riding driving licence, recent utility bill, Council Tax bill or recent bank statement. Digital evidence on a phone or tablet can also be accepted under the council’s current guidance.
Tip-permit vehicles
Qualifying households receive six virtual permits under the normal system. The council allows up to two eligible vehicles per address. A permit is not used when the qualifying vehicle brings garden waste only; a mixed load of garden and other household waste does use one.
Beverley HWRS temporary closure
Beverley HWRS at Weel Road is currently listed as closed for the Weel Bridge refurbishment works. The council directs residents to alternative sites and recommends checking the live site finder before travelling.
