Why Rotherham Food Waste Still Goes in the Pink-Lid Bin
Rotherham does not currently require a separate household food-waste caddy. The council’s current waste directory says ordinary food waste can go into the pink-lid general household waste bin.

Can You Get an Additional Pink-Lid Bin?
An extra general-waste bin is not simply an optional second container. The council currently allows applications where there are five or more permanent residents, including children, or where a permanent resident has a medical condition that creates additional non-recyclable waste.

The council says there is no charge for an additional bin where a permanent resident produces extra waste because of a qualifying medical condition.

Assisted Bin Collections in Rotherham
Residents who cannot move their bins because of age, disability or a long-term health condition can apply for an assisted collection. If approved, the crew collects the bins from an agreed location at the property, empties them and returns them to that location.
