Too Much Cardboard for the Beige Bin? Bolton Has a Specific Exception

Normal side waste is not collected, but Bolton gives a limited exception for occasional extra cardboard when the beige bin is already full. This is useful after a delivery or furniture purchase.

  1. Flatten boxes and maximise the beige-bin space first.
    Remove plastic, polystyrene and other packaging before folding the cardboard.

Bolton Extra Green Bin Subscription: Current 2026 Cost and Rules

The paid extra-green-bin scheme is for households entitled to Bolton’s standard fortnightly food-and-garden collection and using a standard 240-litre green wheeled bin. The additional paid bin is specifically for garden waste, not food waste.

Collection
